Marvin Matthews ...Where Artistry Meets Ministry
A tireless musical artist, Marvin Matthews can be regularly found on concert stages, theaters, and recording studios around the world delivering his distinctive blend of music and inspiration! His exuberant personality, combined with his unique vocal talent and compassionate spirit, seeks to cross many different social, racial, and economic barriers.
He has worked with many popular artists from Little Richard, Debby Boone, and Deniece Williams, to CeCe Winans. Marvin toured Romania at 18, was a soloist with the world-famous Spurrlows early in his career, and has been a featured performer at four Summer Olympics— Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro. Marvin has toured Asia, Africa, and every state in the USA. He has 12 recorded projects and two video presentations to his credit.
His Contemporary Christian recordings have played in “heavy rotation airplay” on many radio stations throughout the US. He has been a featured soloist with Bill & Gloria Gaither in their “Homecoming Friends” video series and tours.
Mr. Matthews was honored at The White House for his work promoting childhood household safety for the U. S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, sung at Lincoln Center-New York, Kennedy Center-Washington, various nationwide network television shows, and at numerous Houses of Worship around the world.
As an actor, Marvin starred in “A Christmas Carol” with Pasadena Playhouse, “Travelin’” and “A Motown Christmas” with the world-renowned, Jubilee Theatre and other regional houses in the USA. He recently won two Akademia Awards-Best Pop and Dance Songs-for his Pop recordings.
Marvin is committed “to inciting love in the Body of Christ worldwide and promoting diversity within local communities. ”He sings because he’s happy...he sings because he’s free” to be all God has called and created him to be.
